Aluminum Sublimation Sheets · Sublimation Printing · Sign Blanks · Rounds · Custom Sizes · Factory Direct

0.22mm sublimation aluminum sheet is our thinnest, lightest coated aluminium panel. It is designed for high-volume sublimation printing where flexibility, low weight, and low cost per unit matter most. The 0.22mm base gives a smooth, flat printing surface while keeping material costs down — ideal for ornaments, thin wall panels, flexible signs, and large print-on-demand runs.

Why Choose 0.22mm Sublimation Aluminum Sheet from our factory?

It is a standard aluminium alloy 1100 or 3003 sheet, rolled to 0.22mm thickness, then coated with a specialised sublimation polymer. The coating bonds permanently with sublimation ink under heat. The result is a sharp, vibrant, scratch-resistant print on an ultra-thin metal surface.

Product Types

We manufacture a full range of aluminum sublimation sheets and blanks. Each type suits a different end use.

0.22mm Flat Sheet — Lightest Option

The thinnest flat panel we produce. Ultra-light and easy to cut, score, and bend. Ideal for lightweight wall art, thin ornaments, and flexible display panels. Ships flat in standard A4 or A3 packs. Can be rolled for large-quantity shipping.

Standard Thickness Sublimation Sheets

Not every project needs 0.22mm. We produce the full thickness range so you can choose the right weight for your application.

Gloss White Coating

The most popular coating. Pure white background. Maximum colour brightness. Best choice for portraits, product images, and photo gifts. The high-gloss surface makes colours pop.

Matte White Coating

Same ink absorption as gloss. No reflections. Preferred for wall art in bright rooms and office environments. Fingerprints are less visible on matte surfaces during handling.

Brushed Silver Coating

Silver metallic texture beneath a clear sublimation layer. Light areas of the printed image show the silver through. Used for awards, trophies, corporate recognition panels, and premium gift items.

Gloss Black Coating

Deep black base under a clear sublimation layer. Unprinted areas stay black. Creates dramatic contrast for neon-style art, light-coloured designs, and bold graphic prints.

Gold Metallic Coating

Warm gold base with sublimation-ready clear coating. Popular for trophies, luxury gift panels, and celebration awards. The gold background adds perceived value to the finished product.

Transparent Coating

Clear coating over natural mill-finish aluminium. Printed areas carry full colour. Unprinted areas show the raw aluminium beneath. Clean industrial look. Used for nameplates, asset tags, and technical signage.

Double-Sided Coating

Both faces coated. Print on both sides of one panel. Used for hanging signs, double-sided displays, and trade show panels where the reverse face is visible.

What Heat Setting for Sublimation on Aluminum?

This is one of the most common questions. Heat settings for sublimation on aluminum depend on coating type and sheet thickness. Wrong temperature causes faded colours or ghosting. Use these settings as your starting point:

Coating TypeTemperaturePressureTimePeel
Gloss white — 0.22 mm185–195 °CLight-medium45–55 secWarm peel
Gloss white — 0.45–0.60 mm190–200 °CMedium55–65 secWarm peel
Gloss white — 0.80–1.00 mm195–205 °CMedium-firm65–75 secWarm peel
Matte white195–205 °CMedium-firm65–75 secWarm peel
Brushed silver185–195 °CMedium55–65 secWarm peel
Gloss black190–200 °CMedium60–70 secWarm peel
Transparent180–190 °CLight50–60 secWarm peel

Three important rules:

  • Always pre-press the blank for 5 seconds to remove moisture before applying the transfer
  • Use a silicone-coated release sheet between the transfer and the press platen
  • Peel the transfer paper while still warm — do not let it cool completely before peeling

Aluminum Sublimation Printing — How It Works

Aluminum sublimation printing is a four-step process. It is fast, clean, and produces permanent results.

  • Print — Print your design on sublimation transfer paper using a sublimation printer and ink. Mirror the image before printing.
  • Prepare — Wipe the coated face of the aluminum sheet with a lint-free cloth. Remove dust and fingerprints.
  • Press — Tape the transfer paper face-down onto the coated side. Place in the heat press at the correct temperature, pressure, and time.
  • Peel — Remove from press and peel the paper while warm. The image is now permanently fused into the coating.

Total process time per sheet: under 2 minutes.

Frequently Asked Questions

What heat setting for sublimation on aluminum?

For standard 0.22mm sublimation aluminum sheet with gloss white coating, use 185–195 °C, light-medium pressure, for 45–55 seconds. Thicker sheets need slightly higher temperature and longer press time. Always pre-press for 5 seconds to remove moisture first.

Can 0.22mm aluminum sheet be cut after sublimation printing?

Yes. Cut before or after printing using scissors, a guillotine, or a craft knife and ruler. The coating does not crack when cut cleanly. Seal cut edges with clear nail varnish or lacquer to prevent oxidation on the exposed aluminium.

What printer do I need for aluminum sublimation printing?

You need a sublimation printer — a piezo inkjet printer loaded with sublimation ink. Popular models include Epson EcoTank conversions, Sawgrass SG500 and SG1000, and Ricoh sublimation systems. A standard inkjet printer will not produce correct results.

Do aluminum sublimation rounds come with holes?

Yes. We can pre-drill one or two holes in any position. Specify hole diameter (standard 4mm or 6mm) and position when ordering. Holes are clean-punched — no burrs.

What is the shelf life of unprinted sublimation aluminum sheets?

2–3 years when stored flat, sealed, away from direct sunlight and humidity. Once printed, the image lasts 20–25 years under normal indoor conditions.

Can I order custom shapes beyond rounds and rectangles?

Yes. We cut ovals, hearts, stars, dog tags, keyrings, and fully custom shapes using our CNC cutting equipment. Minimum order for custom shapes is 200 pieces. Send us your shape file (DXF or PDF) for a quote.
